When you think about site work it is a term that contractors use, but simply it means the work that needs to be done other than the actual building of a house or a structure. The typical types of site work might be grading, excavation, construction and installation of septic tanks and filtration systems, driveways and other utilities.
Site work is done to be sure that the building that will be constructed is safe, stable and properly constructed. When building, the land has to be stable enough to handle the weight of the building without any foundational issues. That is what MacDonald Excavation does, we make sure the land that you are building on is in the proper condition by excavating, to be sure the building will be on stable ground.
Grading is modification to existing topography which can include excavating and removing vegetation. When you grade the property you are leveling off the surface by moving dirt from higher areas to the lower areas and sometimes you may need to bring in additional dirt to create a nice level surface that will serve as the foundation of the project. The land can be graded flat or with a slope for runoff purposes.
Excavation is used to create foundations, reservoirs, roads, driveways by trenching, digging, dredging and doing site development.
Site work can also include septic tank installation, filtration systems, water and sewer line installation.
MacDonald Excavation are experts at site work and preparing land for construction.
